Tom is a person who likes to talk tall(讲大话,吹牛) or to brag(自吹), of course, he will also blague (吹牛 [blɑːg]) from time to time. Here is a story told by him several years ago and was proved to be a fake one after his speech.

This vivid story happened in a mysterious place, without a certain name, the only one thing can be ensured is that it’s a big marshland. Tom said that once he went there with his grandfather in order to gather some rare and useful herbal medicine, which can be sold for money or to cure some of people’s diseases. When they arrived there, the sunny day suddenly changed its face and it seems going to have a big rain, the sky was covered by lots of cloud, meanwhile the wind became strong and strong. His grandpa is so experienced that he made the decision to turn back on the spot. Just when they were ungent running, tom suddenly shouted out loudly, it seems that he was in a big panic. His grandpa immediately stopped and went to check what happened. Awful thing happened! Tom’s left lower leg(小腿；大腿是 thigh [θaɪ] ) was bit by something and it is swell already just in a few seconds. His grandpa became serious suddenly because he was so clued up on with this situation, a poisonous snake attacked Tom just now, its venom is so toxic that seldom people can survive unless they can get suitable treatment in time. Time is limited! As an doctor who has rich experiences and knowledge about these area, he had prepared bandage and something else beforehand, so he could bound Tom’s left leg tightly at about some 5 centimeters after the wound with the purpose limiting the expansion of the venom. After that, Tom was carried by his grandpa and they left there quickly. When Tom knew he was bit by a snake, he was petrified for a while and almost forgot the giant pain! He cried out ‘Grandpa, you are my patronus, you should save me, I don’t want to die.’

The lucky thing is that they arrived the hospital in time and the serum(血清) were not out of stock.
